On December 11, 2025, the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) held its year-end event, "Year-End Gala: An Evening of Connection and Appreciation." LIFE.14 was in charge of photography.

The event took place at the Hilton Tokyo. Held in the newly renovated ballroom, it was a large-scale year-end event attended by approximately 300 members, partners, and related parties of the ACCJ community.

On that day, a program was held to reflect on the achievements of 2025 and to share gratitude to the community.

ACCJ President Victor Osmi presented the Leader of the Year Award and the Volunteer of the Year Award.

Additionally, William E. Grayson, ACCJ Person of the Year and Commissioner General of the American Pavilion at World Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, took the stage to give a speech and propose a toast.

Furthermore, Eric John, the president for the 2026 term, was introduced, and a message for the coming year was shared.

On the day of the event, with the support of our sponsoring companies and partner companies, a networking session was held, featuring a buffet, drinks, and live entertainment, to foster deeper connections among attendees.

Photographs that visualize space and connection

When photographing a gala dinner, it's important not only to record the speakers and group photos, but also to convey the overall atmosphere of the venue and how the participants interact with each other.

First, I use a wide-angle lens to capture the entire space, ensuring a composition that conveys the scale of the venue and the intentions behind the presentation. Then, I carefully capture moments of conversation and interaction among participants, creating photographs that convey the value of networking.

Photographs of business scenes such as exchanging business cards, toasts, and conversations are important as they symbolize the success of the event. To reliably capture these moments, we flexibly switch shooting positions according to the movement of the venue.

Furthermore, we adapted to the unique lighting environment and stage lighting of the ballroom, and conducted the shoot while appropriately controlling the color and exposure.
