I was in charge of photography at "Nagoya Gala Dinner 2026," held at the Nagoya Tokyu Hotel on April 14, 2026.

This event was a gala dinner hosted by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan. Over 150 guests gathered to enjoy French cuisine, performances, and more.

Mathieu Viannet, the chef of the renowned Lyon restaurant "La Mère Brazier" (2 Michelin stars) and recipient of the prestigious Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) award, visited Japan and hosted a special one-night-only dinner.

In addition, a fantastical performance by contemporary dancer Kae Kurachi and flamenco dancer Takashi Isomura was presented.

How can I capture the atmosphere of a formal gala dinner in photographs?

When photographing formal ceremonies and gala dinners attended by dignitaries, the challenge goes beyond simply documenting the event; it's about "how to convey the prestige and excitement of the occasion through photographs."

By adjusting the composition and lighting to match each moment—the chef's delicate work, the dancers' fleeting movements, the guests' natural interactions—we can create visuals that combine splendor and elegance.

At LIFE.14, we leverage our experience photographing these diverse, high-end events to offer photography services that capture the atmosphere and energy of the venue.
