A "Symposium on Animal-Assisted Therapy for Medical Professionals" was held at the National Center for Child Health and Development auditorium by three organizations: the Japan Guide Dog Association, a public interest incorporated foundation; the Japan Assistance Dog Association, a social welfare corporation; and Shine On Kids, a certified nonprofit organization.
LIFE.14 was in charge of photography, technical support at the venue, and online distribution.

This joint symposium, held for the first time by the three organizations, was held in a hybrid format with a total of 170 participants, including those who participated online, and all 120 seats in the venue were filled to capacity.

Animal-assisted therapy is a form of therapy where dogs professionally trained by assistance dog training businesses work alongside handlers who are medically qualified and work as medical staff, and the dogs not only interact with the animals but also provide treatment. Each of the three organizations introduced their efforts and progress.

This symposium was held with the cooperation of many people involved.
I would like to express my deepest respect to all those involved.
What is Shine On! Kids?

Shine On! Kids is a certified nonprofit organization that supports children and their families dealing with childhood cancer and serious illnesses.
We are continuously implementing initiatives that contribute to the mental health of children, including support for the introduction of animal-assisted therapy and art-assisted therapy. In cooperation with medical facilities, we are developing activities that support children and their families.
Certified Nonprofit Organization Shine On! Kids
Shine On! Kids is dedicated to making the lives of children with cancer and other serious illnesses easier for their families in Japan. Established in July 2006 under Japanese law as the Tyler Foundation, a nonprofit organization.
Japan's medical standards are said to be the most advanced in the world, but support for patients and their families still lags behind. We hope to reexamine patient support in Japan and establish a system that provides comprehensive support to patients, from notification of diagnosis to treatment and post-discharge.
We at LIFE.14 support the activities of Shine On! Kids.

Content handled by LIFE.14

At this event, we were responsible for the following:
・Photography at the venue (lectures, panel discussions, panoramic view of the venue)
・Setting up equipment and operating distribution for online distribution
・Venue sound management
- Switching between the video projected on the screen at the venue and the materials screen
By having the same team handle both photography and online distribution, pre-meetings can be completed in one go. Progress can be shared and equipment placement can be confirmed in one place, reducing the preparation burden on the organizer .
Measures required for hybrid events
In a hybrid event,
・Create a layout that will prevent the photography equipment from interfering with the flow of visitors.
・Continue filming and streaming even if there are Q&A sessions or changes to the schedule
・Proceed with photo shoots for documentation and live streaming at the same time
Preparations and on-site responses that take into consideration both the venue and online will be necessary.
If you arrange photography and streaming separately, you will need to explain and adjust each separately. By handling everything together, you can share progress in one place and smoother coordination on the day.
Record the value of the event and connect it to the next step

Symposiums and lectures do not end with just the event, but by leaving behind photographs and archived footage, they can serve as a basis for public relations, reporting, and planning for future events.
At our company,
・Medical and welfare-related events
・Symposiums hosted by NPOs/Foundations
・Academic conferences and lectures
・Hybrid event
We are in charge of filming and streaming many highly social events, such as:
By requesting photography and online distribution all at once, we can help you run a stable event while reducing the preparation burden.
If you are considering a hybrid event, please contact us.
