Capturing a New Chapter in Culinary Collaboration – Chefs’ Irish Beef Club Japan Launch

On June 11, 2025, LIFE.14 had the honor of photographing the official launch of Chefs’ Irish Beef Club Japan, held at The Momentum by Porsche in Tokyo. Organized by Bord Bia – The Irish Food Board, this marked the Club’s first-ever expansion into Asia.
The event was part of a trade mission led by Mr. Martin Heydon, Ireland’s Minister of State for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and served as a meaningful platform for strengthening culinary and cultural ties between Ireland and Japan.
Founded in the Netherlands in 2004, the Chefs’ Irish Beef Club now includes around 80 chefs across Europe—many of them Michelin-starred—who advocate for the exceptional taste, quality, and sustainability of Irish grass-fed beef. With its expansion into Japan, the Club marks a strategic step in raising awareness across Asia.
Through our lens, LIFE.14 captured every meaningful moment—from diplomatic speeches and chef introductions to celebratory toasts and beautifully presented cuisine. We are proud to support global initiatives that highlight craftsmanship, sustainability, and the joy of cross-cultural exchange.
Given the intimate nature of this event—held in a cozy restaurant space with close seating and live interaction among chefs, diplomats, and guests—our photography required both technical precision and a deep sense of discretion.
The photos we captured during the event were also featured in Bord Bia’s official newsletter, demonstrating how our visual documentation contributed to international communications and outreach.

At LIFE.14, we focused on capturing genuine expressions and spontaneous moments without disrupting the flow of conversation, presentations, or dining. We carefully navigated the space and timed our shots to ensure that the act of photographing remained almost invisible to participants.
In small-scale settings like this, each fleeting expression and gesture carries heightened emotional resonance. Our goal was to preserve those moments authentically, while fully respecting the ambiance of the occasion.
