A Night When the Heart Gently Unwinds — Memories of Bonjour France’s 10th Anniversary

On November 12, 2025, the 10th Anniversary Reception of “BONJOUR FRANCE 2025” was held at the Residence of the French Ambassador to Japan, and LIFE.14 once again had the privilege of serving as the event’s official photographer. Over the years, we have built a long-standing relationship with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (CCIFJ) and BONJOUR FRANCE, working together on numerous events and cultural initiatives. Being invited to document this milestone occasion—the 10th anniversary—was truly an honor, and we are grateful to have been part of such a meaningful evening.

The evening unfolded with a series of vibrant performances and moments: a special buffet prepared by the Ambassador’s residence chef, MC Florent Dabadie’s lively hosting, appearances by Klara Blanc and Laurent Ghnassia, a graceful ballet performance by Mizuka Ueno, the ceremonial presentation by the Confrérie du Sabre d’Or, two engaging talk sessions, a Tombola, and a surprise performance by Bebechan and Henri Lebourg. LIFE.14 followed each part of the program closely, aiming to capture not only the flow of the event but also the warmth of the venue, the natural expressions of the guests, and the festive atmosphere that filled the evening.

This particular venue presented unique challenges: the residence’s characteristically subdued lighting meant that the overall light level was very low, and the available space for guest movement and equipment setup was also limited. To adapt to these conditions, LIFE.14 employed high-sensitivity settings, fast shutter speeds, careful positioning based on the direction of available light, and a minimal equipment setup that would not disrupt the atmosphere of the event. Even under these constraints, we worked to capture both dynamic performances and expressive moments of conversation, producing visuals that balance clarity with a strong sense of presence.

The evening, illuminated by the theme of “La Fête!,” was filled with a gentle warmth—where a decade of Bonjour France’s journey blended naturally with the richness of cultural exchange between France and Japan. Sharing the atmosphere of that moment and documenting this milestone through our lenses was a genuine joy for us. We hope to continue standing beside our partners in the moments that matter, and to keep delivering their beauty with care and sincerity.
