For William F. Hagerty IV—the top US diplomat in Japan—arriving in Tokyo on August 17 was a homecoming. Not only did he spend three years working here for the Boston Consulting Group from 1988 to 1991, he was also a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ).
